FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, March 23, 2011, Philip H. Talbert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Talbert Financial Services, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in publishing and financial services.
During his professional career, which has spanned 50 years, Mr. Talbert has accrued a wide range of experience in business and finance. He has lectured extensively, including at the university level, and has published numerous business and academic works. Most notably, Mr. Talbert is the author of “The Half-Life of a Nuclear Battery,” which chronicles the true story of his career as the founder and chief executive officer of a publicly traded NASDAQ company.
At this period in his life, Mr. Talbert encountered physicist Dr. Paul Brown and his invention of a device that converted nuclear waste derivatives to electrical energy. This new alternative energy technology became threatened by special interest groups, as did the life of Dr. Brown, who eventually suffered a suspicious death. In spite of possible dangers, Mr. Talbert continued spreading Dr. Brown’s work, believing that clean, safe energy should be available to all people. “The Half-Life of a Nuclear Battery” garnered Mr. Talbert two silver medals in the memoirs and adult nonfiction categories of the Florida Publishers Association, Inc.’s President’s Book Awards. He has also been nominated for an award from Writer’s Digest.
“The Half-Life of a Nuclear Battery” is published by the independent company, Astral Publishing, which is owned by Mr. Talbert. In addition, he is the chairman and CEO of the financial consulting company, Talbert Financial Services, Inc., where he provides strategic corporate financing. He also designs and administers corporate qualified deferred compensation plans, and structures acquisitions and employee buyout arrangements.
Mr. Talbert belongs to the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, NCEO, and American Society of Appraisers. His career began after earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington, which was followed by a JD from Lewis & Clark College. He has reached success as a result of his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.
